LAKE TAHOE HIKE, IN LULULEMON

There aren't many words to describe the splendid beauty of Lake Tahoe's Emerald Bay and the surrounding Sierra Nevadas.  As part of our summer vacation week here, we decided on a family hike and picnic lunch on the trail.  Breathtaking mountain views, towering pines, boulders, ledges and limbs to climb, and calming clear blue water abound.

I am wearing my new Lululemon Hustle & Bustle tank, which was perfect for this hike on a hot day.  It has a very open weave and is totally breathable.  I love the Wunder Under crops and I cannot resist camo - ever - so I had to grab them.

What a completely perfect day, Namaste!

And a word about my lipstick.  This color by Sephora Collection has been my summer go-to.  Being honest here, I applied it before the hike at 9:30 a.m. and it lasted until 5:00 p.m., battled a huge sandwich at lunch and then was even ready for the pool without any re-applying all day!  This lipstick has some serious staying power. 

FLOWERED KIMONO

I just love kimono-styled cardigans this summer. They are so light and easy to travel with and they go with almost everything. I have worn this worn over a black dress, shorts and jeans. The darker colors will take me into fall.

I also love this Kate Spade cross-body bag. Sometimes carrying a smaller bag is just easier than a large bag! I’ll be taking this on my next trip.

COLOR, IT MAKES WORK FUN

This was a fun office look. I love the colors and geo pattern of this cotton skirt from J.Crew Factory.  The understated but classic ivory embroidered placket blouse from Ann Taylor shows off one of my fave statement accessories, J.Crew's Archipelago necklace.  I also kept the shoes understated with linen and ivory cap toe heels and then added my Longchamp tote to bring out the green in my necklace.

WHITE LINEN BLAZER

 

 

I wear this blazer all summer long. Even though it’s linen it still stays crisp throughout the day. It is a great jacket for the office and even to pair with a cute top and jeans.

I just love this new minidress from Nordstrom. The colors and pattern are so fun. Lots of compliments, including "That dress is SO YOU," from a couple of by best buds. I paired it with my pearl cluster necklace and nude heels and bag for office. It would also be a cute cocktail look with some brightly colored strappy heels or wedge sandals and a little clutch bag.

Okay, so my ten-year-old daughter and I are complete and total nail art addicts.  We are constantly doing each other's manicures, (little secret, I pay her $3 and she does them flawlessly!) striping, glittering, marbling, animal printing, and dotting. I can't remember a time when we walked into a Target or a CVS together that she did not ask me to buy her a new color.
